With a legend writer at home, itÂs hard to keep off the creative ink. And Madan Karkki seems to have succumbed to it. Son of noted lyricist Vairamuthu has also begun writing lyrics for films, toeing his dadÂs line.
Announcing this at a press meet for the film ÂIlamai Idho IdhoÂ, was Karkki. ÂMy father didnÂt want me to become a lyricist. But I convinced him by telling him I am not doing it as a full time profession. I studied at the Anna University and now work there, says the youngster, whose first film will be RajiniÂs ÂEndhiranÂ.
It seems Vairamuthu, who did not want to stand in the way of his sonÂs ambitions, wanted to launch his son in a big film. When he approached Rajinikanth and director Shankar with the idea, both were gracious to offer the lyricistÂs son an opportunity to write in ÂEndhiranÂ. Vairamuthu was initially supposed to write all songs but it was later learnt that his song will also be writing one song, which is a duet. And then, ÂIlamai Idho Idho happened. ÂIÂve written three songs for this film, says the youngster. ÂIlamai Idho Idho has four new comers in the lead, and is being directed by debutant Raja.
